The American Express Queenstown Winter Festival - 26 June to 6 July, 2008 The American Express Queenstown Winter Festival not only announces the arrival of winter, but it is a true celebration of Queenstown, and a highlight on anyone’s social calendar. The Dog Derby for those hardened farmer boys has been there since the start - do watch for yellow snow though. The Drag Queen Race is definitely a must if you want to embarrass your boss and test your sporting knowledge amongst other things at the GAME ON the Mountain Scene's Sporting Spectacular. The Mardi Gras night continues to warm the streets with the tasty food stalls and creative masks on display and one cannot miss opening night with a massive Fire Works display that will have everyone wowing. Top Blokes is a regular on the calendar along with the Great Comedy Debate, Big Air, Jazz Night and The Masquerade Ball.
